ABHISHEK, ASH AND VIVEK IN THE SAME FILM

Posted by: BdBlogspot in , , ,

Call it rumours or hear-say but the word is that the shooting for film “Tansen” will begin next month and it will star Abhishek, Aishwarya, Anil Kapoor and even Vivek Oberoi.
The film is set to be shot in Bangkok first and then would also be shot on other international locations in Australia and New Zealand.
The historical epic is going to be a mega project and will be one of the costliest films ever made in Bollywood.
The film is based on the life of Mughal court singer Tansen and has Abhishek as the lead character. It is directed by Satish Kaushik and produced by Rajshri and even Sony is supposed to have put money in it.
Apart from this Barjatya project, Abhishek is working alongside wife Aishwarya in Mani Ratnam’s much-hyped “Ravana”. It is also rumoured that he and Ash have been cast in a remake of the Amitabh-Jaya starrer “Abhimaan”.

JOHN, NEIL STAY AWAY FROM EACH

Posted by: BdBlogspot in ,

Neil Nitin Mukesh and John Abraham , who will be seen together in "New York", are shooting at the same venue in Maharashtra's Karjat town for two different films on life in jail, but they aren't meeting each other.
"To be honest I have hardly had the chance to meet John here, although we're shooting just a hop and skip away from each other. In all this time maybe we've met just once," Neil told IANS.
The interesting part is that the two adjacent sets at Nitin Desai's studio in Karjat represent huge prison sets. While Madhur Bhandarkar is shooting "Jail" on one prison set, David Dhawan is shooting scenes in a prison with John Abraham for "Hook Ya Crook" next door.
Desperate attempts are being made to keep the cast and crew of one film away from the other to ensure there's no creative overlapping or duplication from one to the other.
The fact that gym buddies John and Neil aren't fraternising although they are shooting a breath away is ample proof that the two units have decided to stay away from each other with their respective prison secrets.
This, after spending all their free time together in Philadelphia when they were shooting for "New York" and later in Mumbai where they gymed together.
After all, it's about creativity.
Incidentally, Kabir Khan's "New York" has a prison scene where John is stripped and tortured for being a suspected terrorist. Neil too bares all for "Jail" and is similarly tortured for crimes he hasn't committed.
With one prison story resembling another without trying, is it any wonder that best buddies John and Neil are staying away from each other and not exchanging notes over their prison stories?

Salman Khan sings promo track for Wanted

Posted by: BdBlogspot in

One can trust Salman Khan to be original as original, creative as creative and dedicated as dedicated. That explains the reason as to why anything and everything that's associated with this man becomes so special, be it his acting, his paintings or his NGO, Being Human. Now, Salman has added one more feather to his cap, by allowing the makers of his upcoming Wanted, (that's being produced by Boney Kapoor) to use a track that was produced and recorded in his own voice.Ace music director Sajid of the Sajid-Wajid duo, who are also composing the music for Wanted, said: "Being in Salman bhai's company for so many years, I have realised that, whatever Salman bhai does, he gives his 200 per cent. And as far as this song is concerned, all that I can say is that it's the result of the long-time pending urge that he was nurturing to sing. Over a period of time, after regular jamming, we (Wajid and me) realised that Salman has become very melodious and versatile in his verses and voice."When asked Sajid about the USP of the song, Sajid said: "Everything about this song is the USP of the song. It has got 101 sounds, all of which are selectively hand-picked by Salman himself. Even though there is a feel of pain in the song, the rhythm of the song has been recorded at a whopping 140 bpm (beats per minute). The song has a very 'today' feel in it. And believe me; you will be shocked when you hear this song and most importantly, when you hear Salman bhai touching high notes like a true professional.Overall, it's a song to watch out for with bated breath."Ironically, the last time when Salman sang a full track in a feature film was for Hello Brother, music of which was also composed by Sajid-Wajid.

Bollywood Star Cast Their Votes

From Aamir Khan to Anil Ambani, India's biggest celebrities on Thursday (April 30) came out in droves from their air-conditioned homes to wait in queue patiently for their turn to vote -- and urge the young to step out and exercise their franchise in the third round of the staggered parliamentary elections. In the great equaliser that are the elections, the stars of the silver screen and the celebrity industrialists were the cynosure of all eyes but got no preferential treatment.Among the early voters, when polling started at 7 a.m. in the 10 constituencies in Mumbai and Thane in Maharashtra, was industrialist Anil Ambani who voted in south Mumbai with a battery of media cameras clicking away.Dressed down - except for designer glares to shield them from the harsh sun - and ready to use their star power to urge people to do their duty, the stars hoped their message of patriotism would hit home.Aamir Khan, who broke his holiday in the US with his children, said after casting his vote: "I have travelled 48 hours to cast my vote, so people can certainly go out from their homes to cast their vote. If you love your country, this is the day to show it. I'm happy to see so many senior citizens casting their vote here. I appeal to the youngsters to come out and vote."Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who was in South Africa for the Indian Premier League cricket matches, also made it a point to be in Mumbai on election day.Sonali Bendre, who was among the early voters, said: "Voting is our birthright. People sacrificed their lives to give us this right."Added veteran actor Rishi Kapoor: "It is our basic right to vote, so people should vote. We need to elect the right person."Echoing the sentiment, well-known lyricist Javed Akhtar asserted: "Your vote is your voice. We want better infrastructure and security system.""People are becoming more responsible. We have large number of first time voters," is how the versatile Boman Irani put it.Director Kunal Kohli too urged people to vote saying: "It is an important election with important issues. I think terrorism and economic slowdown are important issues."Amongst the others who made it a point to vote were Farhan Akhtar, Karan Johar, John Abraham, Celina Jaitley, Sonam Kapoor and Rahul Bose.More than 13 million voters are eligible to exercise their franchise to choose among 196 candidates, including 17 women, in the fray for the third, final and smallest phase of polling in Maharashtra. The constituencies where polling took place on Thursday are Mumbai North, Mumbai North-East, Mumbai North-West, Mumbai North-Central, Mumbai South-Central, Mumbai South; Thane, Kalyan, Bhiwandi and Palghar.

Bollywood Stars, Industrialists and Celebrities were the usual draw at several polling stations in Mumbai as 10 parliamentary constituencies in Mumbai and Thane districts of Maharashtra went to the polls for the final phase of Lok Sabha elections in the state on Thursday (April 30). Polling stations opened at 7 a.m. Among the early voters was industrialist Anil Ambani, who cast his vote in a south Mumbai polling centre amidst a battery of media cameras. In Mumbai North, former union minister Ram Naik also turned up early, smiling and greeting his constituents. In Bandra, among the noted personalities who came to vote were Sonam Kapoor, Rahul Bose, Sushma Reddy, Amrita Rao, Sonali Bendre, Aamir Khan and several television stars. South Mumbai Congress candidate Milind Deora, his father and union minister Murli Deora and their family members also cast their votes. Shiv Sena's Mohan Rawle also exercised his franchise early. Over 22,000 security personnel drawn from both police and paramilitary forces have been deployed to ensure peaceful polling in Mumbai. Police have detained over 12,000 "anti-social elements" to ward off any trouble in the nation's financial capital, where around 70 polling stations have been identified as "sensitive". The constituencies going to polls are Mumbai North, Mumbai North-East, Mumbai North-West, Mumbai North-Central, Mumbai South-Central, Mumbai South, Thane, Kalyan, Bhiwandi and Palghar.

She has finished writing a novella which has four chapters.A source reveals, "While Aryan is into sports and video games, Suhana loves to read and write. The novella she's written tells the story of a girl with six feet long eyelashes. When SRK asked her how it was possible for a girl to have such long lashes, she quickly replied back saying that the lashes were not real but just extensions." The actor is very proud of his daughter's writing and proudly shows the book off to his friends. All who have read the book are full of praise for the Khan kid. She obviously has inherited her reading and writing gene from her dad. The source adds, "Shah Rukh loves to read and has a huge library of both fiction as well as non-fiction books. He's extremely proud of the fact that at such a young age Suhana has managed to not just write one but complete four long chapters for her story."

Akshay’s back on the blogosphere

Posted by: BdBlogspot in ,

Akshay Kumar has updated his Facebook page after a while now. The star’s excuse has been that he was extremely busy shooting for his Khatron Ke Khiladi's Season 2. On the blog, the superstar mentions his busy schedule, the desperate measures he took to make sure he could watch the IPL and most surprisingly, he gives a shout out to his ex-girlfriend Shilpa Shetty. Here’s what he wrote:“Hello my friends,Firstly I’d like to apologise for the long gap, I’ve recently been in South Africa shooting for the second season of Khatron Ke Khiladi Fear Factor in Cape Town, as well as trying to juggle my time with dubbing for Kambakht Ishq, supporting my Delhi Dare Devils at the IPL, taking my entire family on Safari whilst preparing myself for some insane stunts for my show. Thank god I’m much better at juggling 5 extreme events than I’ll ever be at juggling 5 balls…”IPL Fever“Speaking of balls I’m now in Singapore filming for De Dhana Dhan… But the second I landed what was the most important thing to me - My IPL! So I called up my producer and said I don’t care where I stay, even if it’s in the back of a kitchen, I need to watch my IPL. Bad news, my hotel didn’t have the channel; so what else can I do but personally find the hotel manager and fold my hands in humble request and plead and plead for what ever it takes to please get that channel.”Dear Shilpa?…is Twinkle reading?“Can you imagine by the next day I was sitting in my room watching KKR vs PKXI, happy is not enough to describe how I was feeling… And wow what a season it’s been, seriously I wish the best for all the teams, you have me on the edge of my seat, and I’d like to send my best regards to Shah Rukh Khan’s Knight Riders, they’ve put up a good fight so don’t worry boys you will always be loved. And Preity Z, she has a tremendous fighting spirit which I must say I adore, she makes us all proud. And dear Shilpa, what a come back after the first match, Shane Warne and Yusuf Pathan have carried her team well, keep smiling Shilpa…”The superstar also encouraged all sportspersons“While we’re on the subject of sports, as much as I love my cricket, my family has many sporting talents in them, my little girl Simar loves basketball, and she’s won matches for her school already. But seeing like most sports in India (unlike cricket) it doesn’t have that much funding or backing. So I did some research that I’d like you all to check out. Look up the “Harlem Globetrotters” they are an American basketball league that have taken everyone by storm, they are incredible at basketball but there’s a twist, they go around performing the funniest comedian tricks in the arena which just leaves you with your mouth open in awe, seriously! Please check it out, coz I feel that not being a world champion at a sport doesn’t mean you can’t hold a place in peoples hearts with that sport, those guys are champions but it ain’t always about winning, it’s the taking part… So as I sign off, remember you don’t have to be the Best to be Great, you just have to want to get up and take part in something.”
